Review: All That Remains rocks on Garth Brooks’ ‘Thunder Rolls’ cover (Includes first-hand account)

Their song’s music video may be seen exclusively on Billboard, where it was premiered.

All That Remains have dusted off the Garth Brooks original recording, and they have given it a more raw, dark, intense metal touch. Phil Labonte nails the lead vocals with his powerful, husky voice. Their music video for “Thunder Rolls” is quite compelling, and worth more than just a passing glance. “Thunder Rolls” resonated well with their Long Island fans when they performed it live at Mulcahy’s Pub and Concert Hall in Wantagh on May 25.

The Verdict

Overall, All That Remains is able to introduce “Thunder Rolls” to a brand new generation of fans, and music listeners (in this instance, the hard rock and heavy metal audience). They have truly made it their own, and Garth Brooks ought to be proud of them from a songwriter’s standpoint (proving that quality music can transcend genres). All That Remains’ impressive rendition of “Thunder Rolls” garners an A rating.

Their Madness album, released on Razor & Tie Records, is available on iTunes.
