Episode 11 of Aldnoah.Zero 2, titled “The Unvanquished,” is currently available to stream on Crunchyroll and Hulu for paid subscribers. Free subscribers can watch the same episode six days from now on March 28th.
Klancain proves to be a new factor, which affects everything.
It obviously shows that Slaine’s plans are falling apart thanks to the combined efforts of Inaho, Klancain, Asseylum, and Maazurek. Slaine obviously means well, but he has been corrupted by his quest for his revenge, his ideals, and his position of power. I wonder if there is a chance for Slaine to redeem himself.
I am amazed that Slaine’s battle is mostly political and Inaho’s battle is mostly militaristic. They are fighting two different battles, but they play opposites to each other in a series of fated battles. Slaine has the power of Aldnoah and Inaho has a cybernetic eye that acts as an “analytical engine.”
Inaho puts himself in a dangerous situation by being too dependent on the analytical engine.
He predicts, with help of the analytical engine, that Slaine plans an all-out attack on Earth. It is funny because Slaine recently proposed the idea to punish the crew of the Deucalion. Yuki is obviously concerned, but she has to understand that Inaho is “different.”
Asseylum’s situation is different when she learns that her grandfather is senile and likely suffers from dementia. Asseylum is standing right in front of him even though he believes that she was killed by the Terrans.
This leads Asseylum to drop a major bomb on everybody, taking Klancain as her “husband.”
It is safe to say that it puts a wrench in Slaine’s plans to dominate Earth. I shouldn’t be surprised that Asseylum would make a bold move like that. Lemrina, under the guise of Asseylum, took Slaine as her husband.
This is like a combination of Gundam SEED Destiny and House of Cards. Asseylum’s announcement reminded me of when Lacus Clyne made her announcement through a pirate station, which outed Meer as the imposter. It feels like House of Cards because Slaine’s “kingdom” is crumbling.
I enjoyed this episode a lot, but I wished that Inaho and Lemrina interact at least once.
