Global electronic musician, DJ and producer Alan Walker performed at SummerStage in New York’s Central Park, for a great turnout.
With this show, the Norwegian artist wrapped up his two-year-long “Walkerworld Tour.”
Walker immersed his fans in “Welcome to Walkerworld” and he went on to perform hit after hit.
These included “Faded,” “The Spectre,” “All Falls Down,” and “Alone,” which were quite the bombastic electronic dance music (EDM) anthems.
The inclusion of his newer track “Me, Myself and The Night” in his Central Park set was sheer bliss.
Backed by cinematic visuals and an explosive laser show, the performance transformed Central Park into a full-scale audio-visual spectacle.
Walker’s special musical guests included Norwegian artist Anne Gudrun, who allowed her crisp, crystalline voice to shine, as well as Robin Packalen, who was noteworthy in his own right with his harking voice.
Equally memorable were “Better Off (Alone, Pt. III),” “Yesterday,” “Unity,” and “Mind of a Warrior.”
Each tune in his Manhattan setlist had its own identity, and it was able to move his listeners on an emotional level.
After the infectious “Thick of It All.” he concluded with “Darkride” and “The Drum,” where he left his fans and listeners wanting to hear more.
‘World of Walker’ app
In addition, Walker revealed the launch of his “World of Walker” (WoW) app, which is a new platform that will kick off worldwide on August 8th. With this new app, his goal is to strengthen the connections between him and his dedicated fans.
The Verdict
Overall, Alan Walker was able to put on an upbeat, high-octane, and live show at SummerStage in Central Park.
It was both nostalgic and euphoric; moreover, it was an enthralling celebration of life through electronic music, which felt like a universal language.
People were dancing, singing, jumping, and clapping along to his catchy bangers.
Walker commanded the stage for well over two hours, and he had the New York audience with him every step of the way. The crowd at his show was diverse (from all ages and they came to see him from every continent).
His live set in the Big Apple garnered two giant thumbs up. Well done.
