It will be released on September 4, via Eagle Rock Entertainment, and it will be available on multiple formats such as Blu-ray, CDs and DVD.
This collection gives their fans a front-row concert experience of Aerosmith’s sold-out show last year at Donington Park in the United Kingdom, as they headlined the Download Festival, as part of their “Let Rock Rule” tour.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers opened their Donington set with “Train Kept A-Rollin'” and “Eat The Rich,” and it was followed by “Love In An Elevator,” prior to them performing the fan-favorite “Cryin’.” It was great to hear the inclusion of “Jaded” in this set-list, since they didn’t perform it during their concert at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater last year in New York.
Equally impressive is the electrifying “Janie’s Got a Gun” and their power-ballad “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing,” thus proving that they are still at the top of their game, musically. They closed with such rock staples as “Walk This Way,” as well as “Dream On” and “Sweet Emotion,” where the latter two vocals are worth the price of the collection alone.
Most impressive about this DVD is that it was carefully filmed and it highlights the talents of all five Aerosmith band members, which include lead singer Steven Tyler, lead guitarist Joe Perry, bassist Tom Hamilton, drummer Joey Kramer and rhythm guitar player Brad Whitford.
The Verdict
Overall, this Donington box-set DVD and CD collection is a must for any fan of Aerosmith or rock music. The songs on here are classic and nostalgic, and it allows listeners to experience their live show from the comfort of their sofas or computer screens. There is something in it for everybody. It earns an A rating.
