Actor Adam Huss recently returned as Nikolas Cassadine on the hit ABC soap opera “General Hospital.”
Adam Huss substituted for the character Nikolas (for Marcus Columa), and he brought closure, filming Nikolas’ final scenes, and he nailed them. These took place at a pivotal moment in time because Nikolas was involved in many nefarious acts.
The tension between Nikolas and his son, Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez), was palpable, where one could cut it with a knife. Huss was not afraid to be raw and vulnerable, and he was able to convey a wide spectrum of raw emotions to the character of Nikolas, which would make viewers feel sympathy for him.
Spencer had the upper hand, and Nikolas knew exactly who gave it to him, his ex- wife Ava (Maura West). Huss layered Nikolas’ complex emotions well and delivered them in an intense yet controlled fashion, to the point where he was able to knock this journalist sideways with his dynamic acting performance, which spotlighted his angst.
The scenes were brilliantly executed, and expertly edited, and one could feel his character’s heartache, especially when he walked away from his mother, Laura, the mayor of Port Charles (played by the iconic Genie Francis).
When Nikolas walks away from his mom, that moment is bound to leave the audience in goosebumps. An acting masterclass right there.
“General Hospital” viewers and fans noticed Huss’ acting abilities, and they praised him on social media for his intricate acting work. He was a wonderful addition to this historic show, which will be celebrating its 60th anniversary this April.
Each time he substituted for Nikolas (and he has done so on several occasions over the years), he made the role his own in the popular daytime drama.
In a moving post on Instagram, Huss expressed his sincere appreciation. “So excited I get to finally post these awesome stills from @generalhospitalabc I know what a big deal it is to the fans of this show to honor what I am stepping into, which is an unbelievably well run, beautifully crafted television institution of a show with consummate professionals both in front of and behind the camera,” Huss said.
“Every single person there gives their all to pull off these episodes. I relished every moment of these scenes and working off of the two dynamos that are @nicholasalexanderchavez and #GenieFrancis ! Every one of my scene partners there are the best of the best @maurawest @averypohl @rebeccaherbst #denisecrosby the list goes on. I am one lucky lucky guy,” Huss exclaimed.
Hopefully, this is a harbinger of more great things to come from Adam Huss in the future in the acting realm.
