Review: Adam Ezra Group superb at The Paramount in Huntington (Includes first-hand account)

They shared the stage with rock group Silverbird, as they both opened for Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Robby Krieger of The Doors.

The band opened with “Life of a Thief,” which ironically enough, is the opening cut of their latest album. It was followed by the up-tempo and melodic “Let Your Hair Down.” Despite a few vituperative words, their rendition of “The Devil Came Up to Boston” was upbeat and witty.

“Burn Brightly” was acoustic-driven and soothing, while “14 Days” was laid-back and mellow. Adam Ezra Group closed their six-song set with “Steal Your Daughter,” a track from their latest album Better Than Bootleg, Vol. 2. This tune displayed the band’s talent as a whole as Corinna Smith was electrifying on fiddle, and Ezra nailed the vocals, acoustic guitar and concluded with a banjo solo. Turtle, Josh Gold, Alex Martin and Francis Hickey from the band were exceptional as well.

The Verdict

Adam Ezra Group’s show at The Paramount garnered 4 out of 5 stars. They were able to put on a high-energy and fun concert for the Long Island audience, as they opened for a living rock legend.
