“Smoke” is already in the Top 10 on country radio, and climbing. It is a track on their forthcoming studio album, Southernality, which will be released via their record label, Republic Nashville. Dave Cobb served as their producer. The song was co-written by A Thousand Horses’ lead singer Michael Hobby, as well as Ross Copperman and Jon Nite.
“She’s smoke, I pull her in nice and slow, She’s a habit and I can’t let go, Blowing rings around my heart, The one she stole,” the group sings, conveying the vivid imagery of the tune’s lyrics.
Aside from Hobby, the band is made up of Bill Satcher on lead guitar, Zach Brown on guitar and vocals and Graham DeLoach on bass and vocals.

The Verdict
A Thousand Horses’ “Smoke” single garners 4 out of 5 stars. Their music is recommended for both fans of modern country and traditional. Their soaring vocals are reminiscent of The Cadillac Three and The Allman Brothers Band meets Florida Georgia Line. It is a harbinger of bigger and better things to come for this country band in the future.
