Fans who purchased tickets to see the rapper took to Twitter to vent over his arrest. One Twitter user said that the police just locked up the rapper and didn’t even let him perform his concert.
Another Twitter user said that it wasn’t enough that the police ruined the Hawks, and they had to go and lock DMX up right outside a concert where many people paid to see him.
A police source said a team of sheriffs waited outside of the music hall, until DMX arrived. As soon as he got out of his vehicle, officers grabbed him and then drove off with him.
The rapper not only had a warrant out over child support, but apparently there were other warrants, including one issued by the city of White Plains for bail jumping, as well as a robbery complaint out of Newark, New Jersey. However, the rapper has not been charged with anything in the Newark case.
DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, owes around $400,000 in child support, but he may only have a net worth of negative $10 million.
