Filming in the Amazon
On shooting in the Amazon, he remarked, “I think it definitely informed the performances. Being on that boat wasn’t even the hard part.”
“The boat was the easy part because on the boat we had bathrooms and everything, but then, we had to go in the jungle,” he noted.
“The production did a great job at keeping us as comfortable as possible, especially considering the fact that we were in the Amazon with all the heat, humidity, and the mosquitoes,” he elaborated.
“Honestly, the fact that this movie was shot in the Amazon was one of the main reasons why I wanted to get involved with the project because I am a fan of the jungle,” he explained.
“I am actually in Ecuador right now. I’m Venezuelan,” he revealed. “So, it had more meaning to me than just any random location.”
Playing Danny in ‘Love on the Amazon’
He was drawn to his character Danny for several reasons. “What I liked the most about Danny is his heart and generosity,” he said.
“I think Danny is a little bit of a harder shell, but inside he is all mushy,” he admitted. “I really think he is a good guy. He has a good heart and a generous. He cares about people and he wants to help them out. I really identified with those qualities in him,” he explained.
Lessons learned from the screenplay
On the lessons learned from this screenplay, he reflected, “I really enjoy being from these parts, and I want to be in this part of the world. I have such pride in being from there.”
“This movie taught me a sense of belonging, and it made me feel closer to the character,” he noted. “It taught me to be of service to people. I would definitely love to go back to the Amazon, and I’m down for exploring more places.”
“I grew up in Caracas, Venezuela, but I had actually never been to the Amazon before,” he noted.
“Also, it taught me to connect with nature as well, especially since it is very important for our nervous systems,” she added.
Message for the fans
For Hallmark fans and viewers, he expressed about the new rom-com, “I think this is definitely a time where we need a little travel romance to sort of disconnect from reality for a second, and just feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.”
“I think that’s certainly the main thing about Hallmark. ‘Love on the Amazon’ is a feel-good movie that feels like the right move,” he concluded.
