The comedy television series created by Amy Sherman-Palladino was originally aired on The WB from October 5, 2000 to May 15, 2007. The show was centered on the stories and lives of the single mother Lorelai Gilmore (portrayed by Lauren Graham) and her daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel). Both the two Connecticut women are depicted as strong and self-reliant individuals who face the everyday issues of their own controversial, yet fruitful relationship. Friendship, romance and family issues are just some of the main themes of the TV series that become one of the most successful ones during the early 2000s thanks to his witty, fast-paced dialogues.
Theories about a possible remake began on 2010 when Lauren Graham explored the possibilities of a two-hour movie during an interview with Vanity Fair. However, it was only in January 2016 that a new miniseries, called Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, was going to be aired on Netflix. The series will start on November 25, 2016, and consists of just 6 hours of total screen time divided into four 90-minute episodes. Almost all the actors from the series’ original cast have signed on to appear in the reboot. Although the Gilmore Girls’ revival has been vastly hyped during the last few months, not everyone seems to be convinced about its real quality. After almost a decade, fans’ expectations could be too high, and their “nostalgia” feeling could actually leave them disappointed. So far, however, the recently released trailer was more than able to deliver, providing the audience with a witty conversation between the two girls in a setting that every fan loved: their own kitchen.
