Authorities confirm body of TV show host Christopher Hyndman

Hyndman, 49, reportedly was found unresponsive about 11 p.m. Monday near Queen Street and Broadview Avenue.
Hyndman hosted the popular CBC-TV show Steven & Chris, along side his real-life partner Steven Sabados. His body was found not far from where the two men reportedly shared an apartment.
Sabados and Hyndman were partners for over 25 years, and had hosted television shows together since 2008. Their design work has previously been prominently featured by Oprah Winfrey, and their television shows have aired in more than 80 countries worldwide, according to their official Web site.
The couple’s television show has since been taken off the air.
A previously released statement from CBC-TV read, in part:
“It is with profound sadness that we share the news Christopher Hyndman died,” said the public broadcaster in a memo distributed to staff Tuesday afternoon.
“We extend our deepest sympathies to Steven [Sabados], family, friends and colleagues; our thoughts are with them all.”

A criminal investigation into Hyndman’s death is both, “ongoing” and “wide open,” according to authorities, who offered no other details citing the investigation.
