On the West Coast, the movie won big at the Malibu West International Film Festival, where protagonist Johnny Greenlaw (as Nick) took the accolade for “Best Actor” and “Best Writer” for his screenplay; moreover, Bill Sorvino won for “Best Supporting Actor” and the film itself was honored as “Best Drama” at the film festival.
In addition to these aforementioned actors, their all-star cast included Carly Brooke, who played Jordana, Joseph D’Onofrio was Brett, Gina Scarda played “Mommy,” Christine Copley played Karen, Kelly Karavites portrayed Stavros Papadopoulos, and George Papadimatos played Spyro.
Mommy’s Box garnered a rave review from Digital Journal, and rightfully so. The film deals with a 30-year-old man, Nick, being in denial about his past, and he is subsequently forced to confront the ubiquitous influence of his mother following her death.
