Op-Ed: Jeff Timmons of 98 Degrees’ five greatest vocal performances

“My Everything” comes at No. 5. It is a beautiful love song that shows off 98 Degrees’ top-notch vocal harmonies, and all four band members deliver.

At No. 4 is “Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche).” It is more upbeat than most of the 98 Degrees songs, and it has a dance vibe to it.

At No. 3 is his new dance single “That Girl.” Timmons shows that he is not afraid to take risks, by experimenting in different genres such as electronic dance music (EDM), and he able to pull this off. It is refreshing, with a Daft Punk vibe to it.

At No. 2 is “Because of You.” This is yet again another masterclass on soaring harmonies, and it is neat to hear the solo parts by Nick Lachey and Timmons. The group’s studio performance at Billboard is the perfect example.

When all is said and done, Timmons’ greatest vocal performance is “Whisper That Way,” at No. 1. He is able to connect with the hearts of his listeners on this love ballad. His vocals on “Whisper That Way” are delicate and smooth as silk. It is no wonder that it was a Top 20 hit on adult contemporary radio.

The Verdict

Jeff Timmons proves that his musical talent is limitless. He can sing pop, R&B, dance and even adult contemporary, with ease and excellence. If anybody has any doubts, all they need to do is to watch the aforementioned video clips of these hits.
