Op-Ed: Five superb country cover songs by Waterloo Revival

Waterloo Revival tips their hat to “King” George Strait with “You Look So Good in Love,” which comes in at No. 5.

At No. 4, Waterloo Revival is able to breathe fresh life into Thomas Rhett’s “Get Me Some of That,” and make it sound cool and refreshing.

Their cover of Luke Bryan’s “Do I” comes in at No. 3. George Birge is accompanied by two acoustic guitars, where one is played by Cody Cooper. This ballad ought to be enjoyed for its beauty and simplicity.

At No. 2, they do country newcomer Brett Young more than justice, thanks to their soothing cover of “Sleep Without You.” Both singers plays their acoustic guitars, and they nail the harmonies.

When all is said and done, at No. 1 is their powerful version of Cole Swindell’s latest radio single “Middle of a Memory,” which is as infectious as the original recording.
