Kristos Andrews is one of the five nominees for the “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Daytime Fiction Program” 2021 Daytime Emmy Award. Digital Journal’s Markos Papadatos states five reasons as to why he should win the Emmy for “The Bay,” which was created by Gregori J. Martin.
First and foremost, Andrews’ acting work in Season 6 of “The Bay” is some of his best work ever in the most explosive season of the series ever.
Secord, this year, Andrews played twin characters (Adam Kenway and Pete Garrett), which was quite a challenging task to undertake especially since they had polar opposite personalities (evil vs. good).
Next, he nailed the monologue-heavy “Man in the Mirror” scene, which was sheer bliss. That scene alone was hailed as “mesmerizing” by Digital Journal.
After that, Andrews has won this category four times in the past (when it was called “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Digital Drama Series”), so it is clear that the Television Academy loves him and the show (which has received a total of 19 Emmy wins). Another advantage is that Andrews is one of the two most recognizable (popular) names is in this category’s lineup.
Finally, Andrews was not afraid to be raw and vulnerable. This season of “The Bay” was filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic under strict protocols, and they were able to produce one of their most exhilarating seasons to date. They were able to make sweet lemonade out of lemons.
So, will Kristos Andrews walk away with yet another Daytime Emmy Award for “The Bay”? Tune in this weekend to find out.
