Op-Ed: Calum Scott had best singing audition on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’

At the time of his audition Scott was only 26 years old, and he performed a crisp and haunting version of Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own,” and turned it into a melancholic power-ballad, filled with raw emotions. It is no wonder that his audition clip has gone viral and it accumulated over 41 million views on YouTube.

His moving performance garnered a standing ovation from all judges, and the Britain’s Got Talent audience in the theater; moreover, his dynamic vocal inspired critical judge Simon Cowell to press the “golden buzzer,” thus putting Scott through to the live semi-final shows.

Ever since, he covered British songstress Ella Henderson’sYours” and did an excellent job with that song as well.
