They are the most successful R&B group of all-time, from a commercial standpoint, and they are true trailblazers that molded the ’90s music scene. They have been eligible for a nomination since 2016. They are known for their use of hip-hop beats in addition to their soaring R&B vocals and harmonies.
Boyz II Men also served as a major musical influence for countless groups and artists that followed, including 98 Degrees and so many others. Boyz II Men are the recipients of four Grammy Awards.
They are known for such studio albums as Cooleyhighharmony, Christmas Interpretations, II and Evolution. Their smash singles include “End of the Road,” “Motownphilly,” “On Bended Knee” and “I’ll Make Love to You,” all of which are R&B and pop standards. Their single “One Sweet Day” spent 16 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
Boyz II Men were the third artists (after The Beatles and Elvis Presley) to replace themselves at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts, and both of those aforementioned artists are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
They continue to tour to this day, and they are introducing their music to the younger generation of fans. The current line-up of the group is made up of brothers Nathan and Wanya Morris, as well as Shawn Stockman.
Let us remember that rock and roll is a spirit and Boyz II Men embodied that musical spirit in their musical career.
