Op-Ed: Five Greatest Billy Joel covers by Mike DelGuidice of Big Shot

“Miami 2017 (Seen the Lights Go Out on Broadway)”: This is the song that DelGuidice uses to over his Big Shot shows on multiple occasions, and it is always a hit with the fans, due to its upbeat lyrics and catchy piano-driven melody.

“Scenes from an Italian Restaurant”: This lengthy Billy Joel classic is a piano masterpiece, and DelGuidice does it justice, as it showcased his versatility as a vocalist and instrumentalist.

“Downeaster Alexa”: Another fun song that DelGuidice performs at some of his live shows, especially at The Paramount, is this remarkable tune, which is noteworthy for its fiddle solo.

“Piano Man”: One of the most fun sing-along tunes at Big Shot’s live shows is “Piano Man,” which is the namesake of Billy Joel himself.

“We Didn’t Start The Fire”: This song is a mouthful, and DelGuidice nails it each time, especially as he plays the piano.

It is evident that Mike DelGuidice is one of Long Island’s most talented male musicians, and he performs regularly with Big Shot at Mulcahy’s Pub and Concert Hall, as well as at The Paramount; moreover, he plays in Billy Joel’s band each month at Madison Square Garden in New York as part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s monthly residency.
