Op-Ed: 2016 Best Actress Oscar predictions: Brie Larson is front-runner

Lawerence and Blanchett has won this “Best Actress” Oscar category in the past, and they are nominated this year for their acting work in Joy and Carol respectively. Veteran British actress Charlotte Rampling scored a nod for her work in 45 Years, and the nomination is her reward. The same holds true for Saoirse Ronan in Brooklyn.

The award should go to Brie Larson for her stellar performance in Room.

This year alone, Larson won the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) award, the Golden Globe award and the BAFTA award for this role, making her the front-runner for the Oscar win. Besides, in Room, Larson gave the only “wow” performance by a leading actress this year, and she deserves to be rewarded accordingly.
