This marked the first-ever NYC Guitar Pull. The “Pull” featured a line-up of performers such as up-and-coming singer-songwriters Brian Falduto, Adam Melchor and Molly Adele Brown; moreover, country sensation Leanne Weiss was their special musical guest.
This “Guitar Pull” is a tradition that is distinct to the country genre of music, where it is believed that it has originated in either a living room or out on a back porch. In a typical situation, several singer-songwriters would gather at a friend’s house, where they would take turns singing tunes that they wrote, or they would play some of their old favorites. The “Guitar Pull” concept has developed into a true artistic tend, predominantly in Nashville, Tennessee, and it affords the musicians the privilege to perform in a fun environment that is also laid-back and relaxed.
This tradition was brought to “The Big Apple” as part of Brother Jimmy’s efforts to present new rising artists to New York, whose musical styles match its southern barbecue feel. There were over 100 guests that attended this inaugural event to hear original music by the artists.
