Singer-songwriter and vocal coach Nicoletta chatted about her new single “Untitled Love.”
How did “Untitled Love” come about?
Years ago my dad was diagnosed with cancer. My parents have been divorced since I was six years old, but when this happened, although my parents were no longer together for many years, my dad moved back in with us and my mom saved his life.
It taught me unconditional love and forgiveness. We all came together as a family and did everything we needed to in order for him to survive, but ultimately, it was my mom who did everything to make sure his daughters still had their father.
She will forever be my hero and showed me truly what love is. Love will come dressed in many different forms, and there is no way to give it one name, which is why I named this song “Untitled Love.”
What inspires your music and songwriting?
All of my real life experiences. I write music from my soul. I often joke that I’m just a middle man for a higher power to work through me in order to get these songs out into the world.
What do your plans for the future include?
Releasing much more music! Performing more and God willing getting my music placed in movies and TV shows.
Sync licensing is such a dream of mine. I also have plans to create a unique meditation vocal series and create a children’s lullaby collection of songs.
How did it feel to open for Nick Carter on his “Who I Am” Tour?
It was so exciting! I got to open for an artist whose music I have listened to and loved my whole life! It felt right, and I am very grateful for that opportunity. I’ll never forget it.
How does it feel to be a part of the digital age?
It feels pretty wild. It makes being an artist both easier and harder. It feels easier because you can reach people instantly, and harder because there is so much noise and overflow. Sometimes your greatest creations get lost in the mix.
Were there any moments in your career that have helped define you?
A defining moment was realizing that I can do this all on my own. That I don’t ever have to feel discouraged or married to the outcome of anything I release or do in my career as long as I’m proud and feel good about my art.
I do this because I am a creative person and artist. And sometimes that statement alone is everything.
What do you want to tell our readers about “Untitled Love”… What’s the one thing you want them to get out of it?
I want people to dig deep and forgive not only others, but forgive themselves. Life can be so beautiful if you just let it. Love is soft, and it whispers.
Quiet your spirit and just simply listen and receive. Love is a universal language and it’s free. Open your heart up.
Is there anything else you would like to say or add that we did not cover?
I want anyone who reads this to do one important thing for themselves. I want you to make a decision. A decision about who you are, what you want, what you declare and accept over your life.
If you have dreams of any kind in any aspect of life, go after them. You’re never too old and it’s never too late. Don’t ever talk yourself out of something that lights you up inside.
