Musician attempts to break record for world’s longest guitar solo

The longest guitar solo is recorded at a whopping 24 hours at 18 minutes. Didonato took up the challenge last night, starting 6 p.m. local time and will end his attempt tonight at 7 p.m.

[See above for livestream of Didonato’s attempt, active until 7 p.m.)

Didonato is livestreaming his guitar soloing at Red 7 in Austin. At times, he looks dreary and tired. He’s allowing himself to take five-minute food and bathroom breaks.

To watch Didonato in action, if you happen to be in the Austin area, it will cost you $1 per hour, Mashable notes.

Didonato is a music instructor and guitarist of the band Modok in Texas.
