Review: Larger Than Life puts on magical show with Power Rangers theme (Includes first-hand account)

Larger Than Life immediately followed The 90’s Band’s upbeat and high-octane set. With the new Power Rangers film coming out yesterday, they morphed into character (as they sported Power Rangers T-shirts from the 90’s). During tonight’s show, the boy band was comprised of founder Edvin Ortega, Chris Jehnert, Devin Peacock and Price Adam Troche Jr. DJ Mike Savage provided the DJ entertainment for the night.

They kicked off their set with their namesake song “Larger Than Life,” where Price nailed the high note in the end, as the fans were clapping along. “Are we ready to have a good time tonight?” Edvin Ortega asked. They continued with the infectious “Tearin’ Up My Heart,” which showed their signature dance moves that were reminiscent of N Sync themselves. After their “dirty medley” of hits, they displayed their velvet vocals on “I’ll Make Love To You” by Boyz II Men, where the fans in the audience were slow dancing to their music and singing along.

They invited their fans to sing along with them on the ever-popular Backstreet Boys tune “I Want It That Way,” which was fun and captivating. It was one of those shows that the fans (who affectionately call themselves the Larger Than Life Army) did not want to end, and rightfully so. Larger Than Life never fails to give an amazing live performance at Mulcahy’s. Well done boys. Five out of five stars.

Acclaimed children’s book author Shari Bitteman (Simon the Snail), who attended their concert, echoed this journalist’s remarks. “Boy Bands are back and better than ever! Larger Than Life lives up to its name as their show exhilarated the crowd with their harmonic wizardry and top-notch choreography. Everyone was on their feet dancing and singing along with Larger Than Life and their ‘feel good’ performance,” Ms. Bitterman said.
