Pentatonix’s kirstin discusses ‘Break a Little’ and Justin Bieber (Includes interview)

On her new single “Break a Little,” kirstin said, “I started my solo project last year, and I’m very proud of ‘Break a Little.” It is a song I always wanted to write. The production has a dual life, and it was the perfect song to start my solo project.”

On her plans for the future, kirstin said, “To keep this going. I’m really excited and I feel great to do both. I work best when I am consistently busy and I feel like this really keeps me on my toes. I am fortunate that Pentatonix and the solo music are doing well so far. I want to be writing more, and be more involved in the industry, and hopefully more solo material and touring.”

Each day, kirstin is motivated by her desire to work hard. “It is refreshing to move things along. I want to get up early in the morning and be busy until really late at night. Working in general has been motivating me a lot, and I feel really inspired by it,” she said.

Throughout her career with Pentatonix, she has won three Grammy awards.

She listed Justin Bieber as her dream male duet choice in the industry. “I love ‘Despacito.’ I think he did a great job,” she said, with a sweet laugh.

kirstin defined the word success as “Waking up in the morning, and feeling like you are doing it right.” “Success means that you are in a good place in your life, and you are proud of your work, and you are happy with yourself,” she said.

“Break a Little” is available on iTunes. “I hope the fans enjoy it. I hope it helps them get through a certain in their life. They are not alone. I hope it makes them happy,” she said. “It would mean the world to me to have a song that people relate to in a good and positive way. This song is so important to me. I just hope they like it.”
