This year, she was nominated for four “Best of Long Island” awards in the arts and entertainment category for “Best Band- Non Cover,” “Best Cover Band,” “Best Twitter Account from Long Island” and “Best Twitter.” “That felt good. I’m glad my band was acknowledged both years. It is one thing to be acknowledged yourself, but for the band to be nominated as well is really cool since without my band, I’m nothing. Hopefully, one year we will win in the ‘Cover Band’ category,” she said.
On her plans for the future, Polizzi said, “I’m actually doing a show out in Bethel Woods in July, so I’m looking forward to that. Hopefully, we will do a Woodstock reunion in August. I have a Janis Joplin tribute coming out, where our first show is in May.”
Polizzi continued, “I love music. Every genre has something that I like. I am all out there and all over the place.”
This year, Polizzi is going to focus on putting out some original music out there, as one of her New Year’s resolutions. The songstress auditioned for America’s Got Talent. “It’s not the first time I auditioned, but this time around I won a contest, and all my cover expenses were covered. We will find out in the near future if I made it or not,” she said.
This past January, Polizzi and her band played a show at Mulcahy’s Pub and Concert Hall in Wantagh. “That was great. That was our third time there, and it was the best one out of the three we’ve done. Third time is that charm,” she said, with a sweet laugh. “Their stage and lighting is really nice, and I love the intimacy of the venue.”
Regarding her proudest moments, she said, “I had my story published in a book called The Artist Collection, which is found in bookstores and digital providers. I was nominated for ‘Rock Artist of the Year’ at an award show in Nashville.”
