Easton Corbin talks 10th anniversary of debut single going No. 1 (Includes interview)

“I’ve been pretty good. I’ve been hanging out and I’ve been trying to take precaution just like everybody else. I’m washing my hands more and I am trying to stay in or at least go outside and trying to be in nature a little bit. That’s the best social distancing I think you can do,” he said.

Regarding the 10th anniversary of his breakthrough single “A Little More Country Than That” topping the Billboard Hot Country charts, he said, “That was great. I am so thankful and blessed. It’s the song that defines who I am and where I am from. It is almost like those guys wrote it with me in mind. I am very fortunate that other people lived the same lifestyle like me and can relate to that song, and that’s what it’s all about.”

On his plans for the future, Corbin said, “The last year we’ve been working on new music in the studio, and we plan on releasing a new song and possibly a new EP in the next few months. It was really about putting a project together that’s cohesive and it tells a story and it goes together. The best song wins.”

Over the last 10 years, he recalled that it has been a “whirlwind of an experience.” “It has been a great ride, and it’s crazy looking back. It has been amazing. I have been very blessed,” he admitted.

This past October, he chatted with Digital Journal about his single “Raising Humans,” in partnership with Companions for Heroes. “That went really well. It’s a great organization to team up with,” he said. “We got a good response out of the song.”

For his fans, he offered his fans and listeners the following inspirational message during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. “I encourage everybody to keep their heads up. Be safe out there and take precautions,” he said. “The biggest message is to keep your head up and know that this is going to pass.”

Corbin defined the word success as “doing what you love for a living and being successful at it.”
