98 Degrees is made up of Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey, Justin Jeffre and Jeff Timmons. Their forthcoming Christmas album, Let It Snow, will be released on October 13 via UMe. This marks their first new album in four years, and their second Christmas album, after the critically-acclaimed, This Christmas, which was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
The group recorded this studio effort at Sound Factory in Los Angeles. It was co-produced by Andy and Thom Mak, and Adam Anders served as its executive producer.
They will be embarking on a tour to promote this new album. On November 26, 98 Degrees will be performing at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury on Long Island, where they are expected to sing their favorite holiday tunes, as well as their classic hits.
For the band, recording this holiday album, was a simple decision. Drew Lachey noted that as a group, their favorite album is This Christmas, and they are proud of the music, the production and their soaring harmonies. They are also drawn to it due to its nostalgic and timeless nature.
Let It Snow features 12 Christmas songs, which include the title track, “Let It Snow,” as well as such tunes as “What Christmas Means To Me,” “Little Saint Nick” and “Run Rudolph Run.” Every member of the group selected each track personally.
This year marks the 20-year anniversary of 98 Degrees as a pop vocal group. Nick Lachey acknowledged that it was the quintessential moment to revisit their first Christmas album and do a follow-up holiday album. “There isn’t enough gratitude to express to the people that have allowed me to sing and perform for a living,” Jeff Timmons told Digital Journal.
