Music superstar Agnez Mo talks ‘Boy Magnet The Remixes’ EP (Includes interview)

On the song selection process for her EP, she said, “Honestly, it happened really organically, which is great, since things that happen organically are what is supposed to happen. We didn’t even think about having The Remixes out. I wanted to focus on making great music and writing more songs.”

Throughout her career, she has won many awards, including the MTV Indonesia Award for “Artist of the Year.” “It was a couple of years ago. Those awards have been a fuel to everything that I am doing right now,” she said.

She revealed that a misconception that people have about Mo is that people mistake her for being “goal-oriented.” “I kind of am, but I am not. If it was just for a goal, I wouldn’t even be here. I wouldn’t have the willingness to drop everything and move to the United States and kind of start over. What really intrigued me is the fact that I can learn so much more. I love to learn,” she said. “Being in the studio and rehearsing with the dancers and choreographers and see how they process everything, I love that. I love to be in an environment, where I get to see people and their process and what makes them great.”

Mo stays connected with her fans via her social media networks, and she listed Jay Z and Justin Timberlake as her dream male duet choices.

She defined the word success as “Having the balance of it all, and it’s hard.” “Especially with this particular industry, it can drive you crazy. For me, again, I can ‘survive’ and actually still enjoy being in this industry, cause I try to do whatever I believe in. That’s what success is: to find happiness in the process and enjoy every minute of it,” she concluded.
