Moonshine Bandits talk new country rap album ‘Blacked Out’ (Includes interview)

The duo of country rappers noted that they do not have a personal favorite song on the album, expressing how hard it is to choose between their “children. “We love them all equally,” they said.

Moonshine Bandits’ latest album is different from their previous release since it has more “southern rock guitars,” as well as a “live feel” compared to their previous records. “It’s a soundtrack to the lives of our Shiner Family, it contains blood pumping blue collar American anthems. It’s all our other albums injected with steroids,” they said.

They recorded their album in Oregon with their Burn Country Production team. “We tossed our cell phones in a drawer, locked ourselves in a studio that had a few futons for us to sleep on, drank a little whiskey, smoked a few cigarettes, and wrote songs that we feel all of America will love,” they said.

They wrote with Ira Dean for this project, which was a fun experience. “We met Ira and instantly were drawn in to his story telling and his different impressions he did of other artists. He’s not only a funny story teller, but he speaks in song lyrics. He invited us to his ranch where we listened to some songs he had written for some legendary country singers, then we all sat down and wrote ‘I Earned It’ together. It was a great experience that we never will forget. We also enjoyed his house which can be compared to a country music museum,” they said.

While on your this year, Moonshine Bandits revealed their craziest fan encounter. “We autographed a fan’s a**, and she came back three months later at a different show with all our signatures tattooed by a huge Moonshine Bandits logo,” they exclaimed.

They revealed that their “Outback” music video is going to be epic. “It will be a historical moment for fans that love our style of music because it features a lot of the artists that are a part of this movement. We appreciate all the artists that made the video happen because everyone has hectic schedules, so that meant a lot to us. There will tons of cameos as well,” they said.

Regarding their future plans, they concluded, “Worldwide takeover with the most loyal fan base in the world, which are known as ‘the Notorious Shiner Nation’.”
