Actor Milan Carter chatted about starring in “Fubar” on Netflix, and working with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
This marks Arnold Schwarzenegger’s first series ever.
‘Fubar’
The synopsis is: When a father and daughter learn that they’ve each secretly been working as CIA Operatives for years, they realize their entire relationship has been a lie and they truly don’t know one another at all. Forced to team up as partners, FUBAR tackles universal family dynamics set against a global backdrop of spies, fantastic action and humor.
On his experience in “Fubar,” he said, “It was amazing. I was the last one hired, first one to shoot. Since I come from the sitcom world every day was a new challenge but the cast and crew made me feel at home from day one.”
“Then, to top it off on day one Arnold told me I made him break in the audition and that I was really funny. Do I need to say any more? Arnold said I’m funny. But seriously he is a giver whether its a story or knowledge you’re getting gems from a legend,” he said.
He opened up about his character Barry. “What I loved most about Barry is his heart,” he said. “Barry will do anything for those he loves— even put his life on the line. I feel like I can really relate to that because my heart and persistence got me where I am today.”
Motivations
On his daily motivations as an actor, he said, “I believe I was put on this earth to be a storyteller. Acting is just one vehicle in which I get to do that. So my hunger for great stories to share keeps my fire lit for acting, writing, directing and more.”
The digital age
On being an actor in the digital age, at a time when streaming and technology are so prevalent, Carter said, “It’s insane. There is literally new shows and movies coming out everyday. Which makes standing out much harder as an actor let alone a show. But I also like it. Because it makes you work harder to be the cream that rises to the top.”
Dream acting partners
On his dream acting choices, he shared, “My dream acting partners would be Will Smith, he took me to South Africa in high school and changed my life. So that full circle moment would be amazing. And I would love to work with Samuel L. Jackson, Viola Davis and comedic legends like Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart.”
Success
On his definition of the word success, he said, “Success is such a interesting term. For me it’s being of service and being able to provide for my family. I’m always about how can I help you. Because we are all connected in a garment of mutual destiny like MLK said. So if I can help someone and take care of my family at the same time that is success for me.”
Closing thoughts on ‘Fubar’
“‘Fubar’ is right on time,” he said. “It’s a hilarious action packed show that is perfect for summer. It’s classic Arnold at his best with a pretty amazing supporting cast if I may say so myself. I think the overall message of the show is when you think all is lost it can always get better.”
