According to The Know, a YouTube channel, an anonymous source in Microsoft has revealed that the company is in talks with Konmai about purchasing and developing Silent Hills as an exclusive title for the Xbox One. They further stated Microsoft is offering billions of dollars while the game is 80 percent finished.
Brian Albert of IGN attempted to contact Microsoft but was told that the company does not comment on rumors or speculation.
However many also doubt that there is any truth to these rumors due to the lack of information and credibility of the source. Most notable has been Jed Whitaker of Destructoid who points out that the alleged offer is too much for an IP and the rumors have been about a single title.
Silent Hills was a planned reboot of the iconic horror survival series that was being Hideo Kojima alongside Guillermo del Toro and staring Norman Reedus. The game was first announced back in 2014 but the project was canceled due to a restructuring at Konami.
Cancellation of the game was met with a massive backlash from the gaming community and future strengthened the rumors that the company is ending its relationship with Kojima.
