Michelle Wright crowned ‘Female Vocalist’ at CMAO Awards

The “Female Vocalist of the Year” award was sponsored by Spring Tree Farm Garden Centre, while Tim Hicks took home the trophy for “Male Vocalist of the Year.”

Wright bested such female country recording artists as Genevieve Fisher, Kira Isabella, Brea Lawrenson, Beverley Mahood and Tianna Woods.

In her offiial Facebook page, Wright congratulated her dear friend, fellow Canadian singer-songwriter Patricia Conroy on her win for “Songwriter of the Year,” and Wright subsequently noted that Conroy amazes her with her songwriting and singing talent, especially since she possesses “the voice of an angel.”

In 2011, Wright was inducted into the prestigious Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame, becoming one of its youngest inductees.

Her latest radio single, “Laugh a Little” garnered a rave review from Digital Journal, and it is making its way up the country charts.

This summer, Wright is having her Fan Club party on June 10, at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville, Tennessee.
