Frantzeskos stars as the lead character Shelly Connors, and Vazquez also stars as in the lead role of Rosa Grant.
Both ladies were honored as “Best Directors” at the Art is Alive Film Festival for their full-length featured film, The Right to Live, which deals with the serious subject matter of domestic violence. This indie film raises awareness about domestic violence, all while providing solutions, in an effort to live a life without abuse.
In addition to directing and writing this independent film, Vazquez and Frantzeskos also produced and edited The Right to Live, thus showcasing their wide range as actresses, directors and entertainers.
At the Northeast Film Fest, The Right To Live was the recipient of the “Audience Choice Award.”
The Right to Live, as Digital Journal reported, is sponsored by Bellevue Hospital. It touches on such sophisticated topics as mental, sexual and emotional abuse, and it includes references to drug and alcohol, postpartum depression and bullying.
