Actor Michael Blake Kruse announced that he has checked out of the ABC daytime drama “General Hospital.”

He went on to thank his fans and supporters that have been with him on his daytime journey, where he played the role of Rory Cabrera.

“Many thanks to everyone who has sent me supportive messages in light of Rory Cabrera leaving the GH canvas,” he said, effusively.

Kruse expressed that he enjoyed playing the character and noted that he valued his essence, and rightfully so. Rory may have been unsophisticated and naïve, but he admired him for being genuine.

Especially with his relationship to Trina, Kruse added that Rory was “always sincere” and he had “her best interests at heart.”

The actor conceded that Rory was a mediocre police officer, however, Port Charles is not the easiest to town to police. Rory was “equipped with a holster from the 70s, no radio, and no bulletproof vest,” he acknowledged.

Kruse shared that being on “General Hospital” afforded him the opportunity to work with “some incredible people” and he has a “newfound respect” for everybody involved in daytime television. “It’s easy to critique but not easy to create,” he observed.

“All my love and appreciation to the fans who were supportive along the way,” Kruse concluded.
