Acclaimed songwriter Liz Rose is Taylor Swift’s longtime collaborator. She was just inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame on June 15 in a ceremony that took place in New York City.

On getting inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Rose said, “It feels great. I am very excited and honored.”
“To be representing the country music community is crazy, so I hope I don’t embarrass them,” she said with a sweet laugh. “I am very honored,” she admitted.
Career-defining moments
Her career-defining moments include this induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and testifying for the Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) for songwriters for royalties, the latter of which was “very important” to her.
Rose is best known for her musical work with Taylor Swift. She has co-written 17 of Swift’s officially released songs, including “You Belong with Me,” which was nominated for the Grammy Award for “Song of the Year,” “Teardrops on My Guitar,” “White Horse,” which won both Swift and Rose a Grammy Award for “Best Country Song” in 2010.
“All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2021, and was nominated for the Grammy Award for “Song of the Year” in 2023.
Rose works regularly alongside songwriters Lori McKenna and Hillary Lindsey, collectively calling themselves “The Love Junkies,” and notably writing songs for Little Big Town and Carrie Underwood, among many other artists.
Advice for young and aspiring songwriters
For young and aspiring singer-songwriters, Rose encouraged them to “write songs.” “Write what you know, write the truth, and pay attention,” she said.
On the title of the current chapter of her life, Rose responded, “I’m still alive and still kicking.”

Regarding her definition of the word success, she said with a sweet laugh, “Being able to keep the electricity on.”
