Dylan Mahoney, a bilingual actor, fitness model, and social media influencer, chatted about his latest endeavors.
Byron Pulsifer once said: “Imagine, dream, and believe in yourself. With determination and belief, you will be surprised at what you accomplish.” This quote applies to Dylan Mahoney.
Lead role in a feature film
A Sydney-based entertainer, Mahoney trained in stage acting and film acting. He was cast in his first lead role in a movie back “The Story of Nadia” in 2021. “That was my first lead in a feature film,” he said. “Hopefully, it will come out at the end of this year. We worked so hard on it and I hope people get to see it.”
Dylan Mahoney: A multilingual performer
He speaks English and Japanese fluently, and he is learning Spanish. “I did a bit of high school and acting college in Japan, and Spanish is something that I have gotten better with over time,” he said.
Daily motivations
Regarding his daily motivations as an actor and content creator, Mahoney said, “I’ve wanted to be on film as an actor for as long as I can remember, as I little child. I would be in awe of movies growing up, especially with such actors as Hugh Jackman and Chris Hemsworth. I had these visions of me following into their footsteps.”
“Acting is my biggest passion in life, even though it’s a very hard career to break into. I am just going to keep going and eventually, I will get to where I want to be,” he added.
The digital age
Mahoney opened up about being an actor and content creator in the digital age. “There are so many more opportunities to make income as a content creator and actor working in entertainment in the digital age that didn’t exist before,” he said.
“I am one of the regular models for aussieBum, which is a successful worldwide company, and I am working with various brands on social media. The digital age has just provided a crazy amount of opportunities for us. There are endless ways to work and make money now that didn’t exist before,” he elaborated.
“I like taking care of myself. I exercise a lot, I eat healthy, and I am sun-safe because in 20 years time, I still want to look young, that’s why I’m taking care of myself now,” he added.
On the title of the current chapter of his life, Mahoney said, “Making Up for Lost Time.”
Advice for hopefuls in entertainment
For young and aspiring actors and content creators, he encouraged them to “follow their dreams.” “Film acting is my biggest passion,” he said.
Mahoney continued, “Keep pushing with all the constructive criticism and all the doors that close in your face. Let that make you stronger emotionally and mentally, especially if that is what you really want to do.”
“Also, network with a lot of people, get your face out there, and leave a good impression. Networking is really important, and remember to stay humble,” he added.
Success
On his definition of the word success, Mahoney said, “Success is doing what you want to do in life, whether it’s your dream career or living where you want to be living. If you are doing that, then you are successful.”
For his dedicated fans and supporters, he expressed his gratitude. “It takes a village. I get messages from people all around the world each day, and I value that, and I take time to interact with them. I am so grateful for their messages of support,” he said.
