Rising actress, model, and producer Anna Oris chatted about her career in the contemporary entertainment scene.
What inspires you as an actress and model?
That’s a good question. I am inspired by people, good music, movies, books, ocean, weather, sun, art, architecture, classic concerts, love and charity. These things give me a lot of energy to bring out my creativity. I am inspired by variety of activities. I like to do different things every day and that inspires me.
I believe life is so diverse that we could use and we should use every moment and opportunity in our life. Also, I am inspired by inspiring another people and by helping people. I am inspired when I’m working on big projects where I can help people and share my experience.
How does it feel to be an actress and model in the digital age? (now with streaming and technology being so prevalent)
I think I call this time an evolution. I can tell that at this moment it’s very difficult and yet at the same time it’s very interesting. It’s hard because every day something changes and one has to be so flexible and adaptable for these changes. Otherwise, one will be left behind.
A good thing about this evolution is it has created so many more opportunities. There are currently approximately 50 streaming services in the U.S. Also, with the numerous social media apps, one now has the opportunity to share their own work with people throughout the world. Directors, producers and casting agents follow social media to find talent. Because of this I spend a large portion of my time creating and updating my social media.
Of course, there is so much more competition, but the quality of the work that is being done is sometimes somewhat amateurish. There is also a loss of personal contact in auditions now that it’s online, so the energy and aura of an individual cannot always be appreciated.
What do your plans for the future include?
Of course, to have as many opportunities and work as possible. I’m fortunate that I’m not just an actress. I’m also a successful model, singer, writer, producer and an influencer. As an example this fall I’m already booked for two projects. One is a comedy and other is an action movie. My modeling and print work is consistent throughout a year. I am also finishing writing the script and producing three movies.
Who were your biggest includes growing up?
When I was very little like from 5 to 10 years old I liked to watch Disney cartoons especially Ariel in “The Little Mermaid.” I was always thinking how I could be a mermaid. I was always singing her songs. I liked to watch movies and imagine how I could be actress in Hollywood.
When I was small I was watching the movie “Terminator” and I liked Arnold Schwarzenegger so much. I think because I saw him as a hero. So he was my first inspiration. I don’t know how to even explain this. Meryl Streep & Julia Roberts were also huge influences in my dreams to be an actress.
When I became a teenager I started to do modeling. I was so obsessed with this. I loved it so much when the stylist would change my looks by coloring or cutting my hair, putting on make up and dressing me in different outfits.
Which actors would you like to someday work with as your dream acting partners?
I would like to work with Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lopez, Emily Blunt, Keanu Reeves, Anya Taylor-Joy.
What does the word success mean to you? (My favorite question)
Success is when you are happy in every aspect of your life. When you can find a balance between your family, your friends, your career, your finances and your spirituality. When everything in your life is full and you feel happy & content.
What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?
I would like to thank them because they are my true inspiration. Hopefully any character I play has a positive effect on them.
