Russell will be appearing at Frankie’s East Side Pizza in Farmingdale on November 17. “I can’t wait to go,” she said. “I was there a few years ago, and it was pretty nice.”
She explained, “Basically, when I connect with those on the other side, before I even get to the event, I usually take a nap, and then I wake up, and I tell them start giving me messages. They give me names of people that are either there, or connected with those on the other side. I never know who is going to come through. Of course, you can’t guarantee. It is not up to me. It is up to the spirit on the other side.”
Russell has been a medium for about 50 years. “Thank God I have a very good reputation,” she said. “In any field, your reputation is your name.”
Aside from being a medium and a psychic, Russell wants to make the average person aware what is available for them out there. “I have been going to a lot of legislators and speaking to them, and putting in some insight on to try to make it easier for those in need,” she said.
She is extremely pleased that she has been nominated for the 2016 “Best of Long Island” award by the Long Island Press. “I am so thrilled. This is my third time being nominated. I don’t know if I will win it, but it would be beautiful if I finally got up there,” she said. “Another honor for me was being named ‘One of the World’s Top 10 Spiritual Mediums,’ so that is an honor to me. I love what I do, and I don’t have that kind of ego. I am grounded and very humble. I was the first female letter carrier in New York. My husband was disabled and I had four kids and I wasn’t against carrying 70 pounds on my back for 25 years and I did it because I had to. I had a family to support. Thank God for my parents that they taught me right and I taught my kids, grand-kids and great-grand kids right. I am very proud of them. They do the right thing.”
