Four-time Emmy-nominated actor Max Ehrich (“The Young and The Restless”) chatted about being a part of “The Bay,” and he revealed that he has a new movie in the works.
‘The Bay’
He is a series regular who plays Wesley McKinnon in the daytime drama “The Bay,” which was created by Gregori J. Martin.
On being a part of the Emmy award-winning series “The Bay,” he exclaimed, “It has been awesome! I’ve been having an incredible summer thanks to ‘The Bay.’ It has been really awesome to step into a cast that feels like a family.”
“I am also grateful to have a role that has such depth to explore, and I am excited for people to see it,” he noted.
“My storyline is really intense! It kind of hits you halfway through; we’ll see. So, you have to watch until the end. It’s going to be an incredible season,” he foreshadowed.
Working with Gregori J. Martin
On working with “The Bay” showrunner Gregori J. Martin, Ehrich said, “It has been the best experience I’ve ever had on a project. Gregori is a genius director, writer, producer, and storyteller. I am honored to be working with him and his talented cast.”
Playing his character Wesley McKinnon
Ehrich was drawn to his character, Wesley McKinnon, due to his “heart.”
“I love his heart,” he admitted. “He has such a good heart; he gets tested, and he still has such pure intentions. He is such a good guy, and it has been awesome to step into his shoes.”
“I really love the dynamics that he has with some other characters on the show as well,” he acknowledged.
“I’ve gotten to go to a lot of different levels with him, which is all you can ask for as an actor… I have a great storyline and get to play a character that has such an intricate arc,” he added.
Working with Mike Manning
Ehrich plays the on-screen brother of Emmy winner Mike Manning. On working with Mike Manning, Ehrich said, “It’s awesome because I get to work with a very talented actor and I really get to play with their brother dynamic.”
“Mike is such a great guy, and he is very talented. So, I really love like my scenes with him,” Ehrich added.
New film in the works — new starring role
On his new film, Ehrich revealed, “I am doing an edgy psychological drama. I will be starring in a lead role. The production begins filming in early September.”
“This is unlike any other character I’ve ever played before,” he noted. “It allows me to stretch my acting muscles, and it’s extremely provocative and intense. Hopefully, it will be very entertaining for my fans and viewers.”
“I can’t wait to share this new project with the fans. So, stay tuned and I really appreciate any and all of their support,” he said, effusively.
New music in the works
When asked about his new music, Ehrich shared, “I was actually just in Florida visiting my parents, who just moved there and I got to go into the studio there, and that was really cool.”
“I have a lot of working working with some really talented producers,” he added.
Message for his fans and supporters
For his fans, Ehrich said, “I would like to say ‘thank you.’ I have something else that I’m going to be able to share soon that I’m really excited about as well.”
“I’m very grateful,” he said. “I get some really kind messages on a daily basis, and I do look at their messages and comments, and it’s very nice to have support and an online community. My fans are dope!”
Closing thoughts on ‘The Bay’
Ehrich remarked about “The Bay,” “I want people to get an escape! I think it’s really awesome when a show helps people escape from their reality; moreover, it allows us to bring people into another world very authentically.”
“That is being done through the set design, through every actor’s performance, and through the writing,” he said.
“There are so many elements to make it and so many people, it really does take a village to bring people to that escape. So, I definitely think we have that in place,” he concluded.
