Three-time Emmy winner Maurice Benard (“General Hospital”) took fans on a virtual ride with him as he talked about his “State of Mind” podcast, and how it all got started. Digital Journal has the recap.

“‘State of Mind’ started right here in my car,” he revealed. “I pulled over, no matter what I was feeling (happy or sad), and I would look around, and I would put on a song.”

“The beauty about ‘State of Mind’ is that mistakes would happen all the time since I’m the one doing everything,” he added. “Then, I would turn off the music and I would speak about what happened to me that week, and just anything in general.”

He also gave a shoutout to his wife, Paula, and ironically enough, she called him at that moment when he was mentioning her name. How serendipitous.

“‘State of Mind’ is not perfect but sometimes, things happen in the moment,” he acknowledged, and he subsequently gave his fans a virtual tour of the studio that he does his tapings for the podcast.

The entire vlog episode may be seen below.

Benard revealed that his “State of Mind” guest for next week is professional boxer Mia St. John.
