Singer-songwriter Mason Ramsey chatted about his new single “Live Lonely” and the digital age.
How did “Live Lonely” come about? What was it like collaborating with Harper Grace?
“Live Lonely” was about my recent relationship and it talks about what I was going through in the moment of writing this song.
Writing it with Harper Grace was a lot of fun – especially getting to know her and know her story, we both can kind of relate to each other and I think that really helped tell the story of the song.
What inspires your music and songwriting?
My life experience… I like writing about my relationships or my family. Sometimes I’m even inspired by my cat, Meow Meow.
What does the word success mean to you? (My favorite question)
Success means doing what I love and always chasing after my dreams. Success is never giving up.
How does it feel to be a part of the digital age? (Now with streaming, technology, and social media being so prevalent)
I feel like the digital era is cool. But I’m old school, and because old school is more simplistic, the whole digital movement can be kind of confusing and overwhelming at times.
What is your advice for young and emerging artists?
Never give up! Always strive for greatness, and when the industry kicks you down, get back up and show them you are a better person, and hold out a hand for the next upcoming artist.
What would you like to tell our readers about “Live Lonely”? (What’s the one thing you want them to get out of it)
Relationships can be hard, but the right one will come at the right time.
