Martina McBride joins line-up for 50th annual CMA awards

McBride will be performing, in addition to a lengthy list of solo country singers and groups.

Throughout her illustrious career in country music, McBride has scored 30 CMA award nominations and she has won five times, which include four career wins for the coveted “Female Vocalist of the Year” award in 1999, as well as from 2002-2004. In 1994, she became the first female artist to win the CMA award for “Video of the Year,” which she won for the music video of her signature song “Independence Day.”

This past August, McBride performed at the iHeartRadio Theater in New York City, where she sang tunes from her latest studio effort Reckless.

McBride is one of many artists featured on the all-star collaboration, “Forever Country,” which is in honor of the 50th anniversary of the CMA awards.
