Martina McBride celebrates 20 years as Grand Ole Opry member

McBride is originally from Sharon, Kansas, and she was inducted by veteran country star Loretta Lynn on November 30, 1995.

Moments before McBride was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry family, McBride performed the country classic “Crazy,” where she paid homage to the late Patsy Cline.

Throughout her career in the country music scene, McBride has been crowned “Female Vocalist of the Year” by the Country Music Association (CMA) four nonconsecutive times. To this day, her signature song is her 1994 hit single, “Independence Day,” an anthem against domestic violence.
