On May 7, international recording artist Mario Frangoulis released his latest studio offering “Blue Skies, an American Songbook,” which is fantastic. Digital Journal has the scoop.
It opens with “For Once in My Life” and the smooth “The World We Knew (Over and over)” and “I’ve Got You Under My Skin.” It immediately breaks into the upbeat “Sway” and “Strangers in the Night,” which has a neat orchestral arrangement to it.
He allows his rich, resonant voice to shine on “Quando, Quando, Quando” and “Stardust” where he is joined by Tammy McCann. Equally noteworthy are “My Funny Valentine” and “Dream a Little Dream of Me.” McCann returns for “From This Moment On,” yet another beautiful duet with Frangoulis.
After “Autumn Leaves,” it closes with the enchanting “In the Cool of the Day” and the nonchalant title track “Blue Skies.”
Blue Skies, an American Songbook is available on Apple Music, Amazon, and on Spotify.
