Marie Osmond discusses new album ‘Music is Medicine’ (Includes interview)

On her new album, Osmond said, “I’m a little bit country, so my new album is definitely country. It has been a while since I did a country solo album. I really wasn’t planning on recording again, and things just aligned. Music is medicine and it has gotten me through some really tough things in life. It has been medicine through my life. I sing multiple genres. In Vegas, I sing jazz, opera, Broadway and I do ‘Nessun Dorma’ right now in my show.”

Each day, Osmond is motivated by “her love of life.” “There was a period of time where I went through a very dark depression and I wrote books about my life, but the thing that got me through it is just being honest. I believe that women should complete each other and not compete with each other. I have always been a celebrity that cared a great deal about the female heart and what we all go through. God doesn’t care who we are. He cares what we are,” she said.

Osmond concluded our interview by defining the word success. “My mother said ‘just remember, you know that you will be successful when you can honestly say that you are a very happy grandma.’ That means that your children love you and that you have put family first, and that your grand-babies love you, and I am a very happy grandma,” she said, with a sweet smile.
