Madonna, the bestselling female artist of all time, is back with Warner Records. She will be releasing her forthcoming new dance studio album in 2026.

“The Queen of Pop” departed Warner Records nearly two decades ago. Warner Records served as her inaugural record label for the first 25 years of her illustrious music career… She released her eponymous debut album with them back in 1983, and the rest is history.

Background on Madonna

Throughout her career in the music industry, which spans over four decades, Madonna is the bestselling female recording artist in music history with over 400 million records sold worldwide (according to the “Guinness Book of World Records”).

Madonna is a cultural trailblazer who continues to push the boundaries through her artistry, songwriting, reinventions, and self-expression.

She is known for her cutting-edge music videos and unmatched live performances, all of which have solidified her as a pop music icon and as one of the highest-grossing solo touring acts in history.

Throughout her respected career in entertainment, Madonna has been earned seven Grammy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, as well as an induction into the coveted Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2008 (in the “Performers” category).

Madonna on being back on Warner Records

A seven-time Grammy winner, Madonna remarked in a press statement, “From being a struggling artist in New York City to signing a record deal to release just three singles, it seemed at the time my world would never be the same again and in fact, that couldn’t have been truer.”

“Since the beginning, Warner Records has been a real partner with me,” Madonna acknowledged.

“I am happy to be reunited and look forward to the future, making music, doing the unexpected while perhaps provoking a few needed conversations,” Madonna expressed about inking her new record deal.

Co-Chairmen of Warner Records on having Madonna back on the label

Tom Corson and Aaron Bay-Schuck, the co-Chairmen of Warner Records, stated that they are “honored” to welcome Madonna back to her original record label home.

“Madonna isn’t just an artist—she’s the blueprint, the rule-breaker, the ultimate cultural juggernaut,” they said. “For decades, she has not only defined the sound of global pop music but also reshaped culture itself with her vision, innovation, and fearless artistry.”

“This signing represents a historic, full-circle moment, one that brings her back to the label where it all began and reaffirms her unparalleled influence, setting the stage for an exciting new era of creativity and impact,” they elaborated.

Forthcoming Madonna album — her first musical effort in seven years

This upcoming collection will mark her first studio offering in seven years. Madonna reunites with award-winning producer, songwriter and DJ Stuart Price, for the follow-up to her critically-acclaimed “Confessions on a Dance Floor” album.
