Her latest two-disc studio album, Down Where The Spirit Meets The Bone, was released in September of 2014.
Williams’ music is highly eclectic, encompassing elements of the following genres: pop, rock, folk, blues, adult contemporary and country.
Throughout her respected career in the music industry, Williams has won three Grammy awards, out of 15 nominations. In 1993, she took home the Grammy award for writing Mary Chapin Carpenter’s signature tune “Passionate Kisses,” while in 1999, her critically-acclaimed and gold-certified album, Car Wheels on a Gravel Road, was honored with the Grammy for “Best Contemporary Folk Album”; moreover, in 2002, her song “Get Right With God” from her Essence album, earned her the Grammy for “Best Female Rock Vocal Performance.” In 2002, she also made CMT’s “40 Greatest Women in Country” list at No. 36.
