Love and Theft’s Stephen Barker Liles talks Whiskey On My Breath (Includes interview)

“Whiskey On My Breath” received exposure on Bobby Bones‘ national syndicated radio show and it catapulted to No. 2 on iTunes in one day. “What a blessing,” he said. “This business is so crazy, so we don’t take it for granted at all for sure. We are still working the single and we are still trying to get it up the charts. The fact that Bobby Bones played it and people bought it was awesome.”

Their music video for “Whiskey on My Breath” may be seen below.

On their new video, Stephen said, “We wrote the whole script for that music video. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Addiction doesn’t always have to be negative. This father [in the video] got divorced and he was addicted to alcohol and it brought him to the lowest place, but in the end, when he gets sober, he starts a relationship with his daughter again, and as new fathers, that was something that we wanted to show. It doesn’t always end up perfect, but there is always still home for something bright. That’s what life is.”

Stephen Barker Liles has nothing but the greatest remarks about being a father. “I just love being a dad so much. It’s my dream come true,” he said.

His new year’s resolutions are for as many people as possible to hear their music. “Hopefully, our music will have a positive influence on as many lives as possible,” he said. “Even if ‘Whiskey On My Breath’ doesn’t go up the charts, for us, if it changes a couple of people’s lives for the better, then it is worth every penny.”
