Lloyiso talks about his new music and his New York concert

South African singer-songwriter Lloyiso chatted about his upcoming show at Mercury Lounge in New York and his new music.

New York City show

On June 13, Lloyiso will be performing at Mercury Lounge in Manhattan. “I’m so excited for my first show in the United States. I’ll be performing with a keyboard player and doing special versions of all my songs,” he said.

Songwriting and music inspirations

Regarding his music and songwriting inspirations, he said, “Life mostly. I try and write about what I feel because I know that other people can relate to life’s struggles.” 

Future plans

Regarding his future plans, Lloyiso said, “I want to do an album soon and start touring all over the world. And I’ve got some very exciting collaborations coming.”

The digital age

On being an artist in the digital age, now with streaming and technology being so prevalent, he responded, “I don’t know any different to be honest. I love the immediacy of making something and being able to have the fans hear it that night.” 

Lloyiso listed the following artists as his dream duet choices in music: Adele, Disclosure, Rufus Du Sol, and Zach Bryan.

Advice for hopefuls in acting

For young and aspiring artists, he said, “Be persistent and believe in yourself. You have to put in the hard work to get noticed.” 

Success

On his definition of the word success, he said, “Success means having my songs touch millions of people around the world.” 

Fans

For his fans and supporters, he said, “I love the herd so much. Their support means the world to me and pushes me to be my best self.” 

“A big shout out to all my South African fans (at home and all over the world). I love you so much and I cant wait to do a tour in my hometown,” he concluded.
