Regarding her new single, “Chuck Norris,” she said, “I started thinking one day, and I thought I was kind of awkward. I could never run down a beach or be sexy or if I ever try to cook from scratch, I would light it on fire. I thought that would make a really good song. When we were writing it, we thought that Chuck Norris would be super-badass. Chuck is more than just a kung-fu master. He does everything. He has a charity that he is very passionate about and he is a very family-oriented man and he is well-rounded.”
Michelle continued, “The song is about finding your inner Chuck Norris, and embracing it. One needs to stop caring about what other people say.”
The Chuck Norris cameo in the music video was extra special for Michelle, since when she was growing up, she would watch Walker Texas Ranger together with her father. “I got a little emotional before I met Chuck, but once I was introduced to him, I pulled it together,” she said. “His work ethic was amazing and we had a fun time shooting the video. It was beyond my expectations.”
She listed Donny Osmond as her dream male duet choice, and noted that she would love to sing the song “Close Every Door” from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. “As a kid, I was obsessed with that Broadway play. To sing with Donny would be so cool,” she said.
